Multipolarization Begins

The world of wireless communication leaped into the 21st century when a man named Dr. Jack Nilsson had a passion for ham radio and commercial broadcast communication. This passion fueled by high level mathematics and the desire to better understand “real world” radio wave phenomena led to his development of MultiPolarized radio wave theory. With the ability to “see the waves”, Dr. Nilsson focused on creating a single feed passive antenna which, based entirely on physical geometry could address and incorporate each element of a MultiPolarized signal. After years of work including development of new mathematical theories and constants in the physics of radio frequency technology, he succeeded and created a single feed MultiPolarized antenna with built in spatial and polarization diversity. In 2003, the United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded Dr. Nilsson US patent #6,496,152 for his antenna creation that many conventional wireless experts deemed impossible. One year later in 2004, NASA’s Ames Research Center utilized artificial intelligence software in its effort to design advanced antennas faster in hopes to develop “designs that no human designer would ever think of” [ reference ] . To this day, Dr. Nilsson is considered the leading expert in MultiPolarized radio wave science as he continues to refine his knowledge and expand antenna designs never before thought humanly possible, even with the aid of artificial intelligence software. .

Commercialization

MultiPolarized antenna technology was commercialized through a product line of ham radio antennas called Niljon. Named after company founders Dr. Jack Nilsson and Mr. Clark Johnson (silent key), Niljon antennas captured immediate attention in the ham radio community. Users provided feedback on real world performance of these new and unique antennas, citing increased communication performance especially in difficult obstructed areas such as hills and valleys. In 2003 Dr. Nilsson sold Niljon and formed a new company to apply his technology in the rapidly growing area of Wifi. His initial MultiPolarized Omni antenna was an immediate success, which was followed by a series of other beam and high gain MultiPolarized antennas. Even with revolutionary products and insatiable market demand for better connectivity, the company suffered unfortunate hardship, an unfavorable merger, and change in company focus ultimately resulting in Dr. Nilsson leaving the WiFi antenna company he co-founded.

The Niljon legacy and MultiPolarized antenna technology continues through MP Antenna, Ltd.

In June of 2009, MP Antenna released its first ground up design of new Super-M Ultra™ MultiPolarized antennas. Available in both base station and mobile versions, these revolutionary new single feed passive communication antennas go beyond normal wide band coverage to a new level of Ultra Wide band continuous coverage from 25 MHz to 6 GHz.
